Date Retention Policy on a List

**Corrections from initial posting**

What I’m trying to do:  I want to set a policy on a custom list – based on the date an item was created.  I want the item to be deleted after 30 days.

You can still get your policy, you just have to first define it at the site collection level.  Then at Step 3 above select Use a site collection policy and pick the policy that you’ve

Is this documented?  Yes, it is as a note on this page.  But we’ve tested a number of circumstances where the statement/note made in the MS documentation is not correct.

Again, SharePoint does what we want, just not the initially intuitive way we might think it would work.

Now get back to work.  🙂
