What happened to e-books on Amazon?

Where did the e-books on Amazon.com go? When did they stop offering them? What the heck?!?!

I loved the ability to find all the books I was looking for and then having my choice of formats – no longer.

The only thing I can find in reference to any change is this page:
http://www.amazon.com/e-Docs-Books/b?ie=UTF8&node=551440

It looks like they’ve outsourced to Mobipocket.

Some of the other larger vendors out there are:
www.fictionwise.com
www.ebooks.com
www.ereader.com

But I’d still like to know what Amazon’s reasons were for bailing on the format. 🙁

As if it isn’t hard enough for the party attendees to make the 8:00 sessions, our little Hilton Logan had a fire alarm go off at 3:45, clearing us all out into the front yard for a little impromptu Tech Ed meeting… Woo hoo!

Hello World!

Hello there. My name is Wes Preston and I am an Information Worker in both the literal and figurative sense. I am part of the Information Worker practice at Inetium and work primarily with Microsoft SharePoint and related technologies.

I’m new to the writing end of the blogosphere, but hope to provide some interesting, if not informative and useful information – though some will be just for fun. 🙂

Some of the topics I’ll be starting with include SharePoint 2003 (both WSS and SPS), SharePoint ‘v3’ and Office 12, Windows Mobile 5.0, and Tech Ed 2006 (for the next month or so).
