Having the ability to manage the Quick\u00a0Links (left\u00a0navigation) and top tabbed navigation in MOSS is a fine step forward from v2.\u00a0 However,\u00a0in some\u00a0circumstances when trying to manage\u00a0these items, the list can\u00a0get long (especially when showing subsites and\/or pages).\u00a0 The longer the list, the more cumbersome\u00a0it is to manage\u00a0because you have to select an item from the treeview and then scroll up to the editing toolbar to make your changes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Conveniently, the links in the toolbar are\u00a0just javascript calls.\u00a0 You can save yourself a lot of time and frustration by adding the toolbar links directly to your browser’s Links\/Favorites toolbar.\u00a0 This way you can scroll to the part of the navigation tree that you are editing and stay there – using the browser links instead of the editing toolbar.\u00a0<\/p>\n

  1. Navigate to the Site Navigation Settings Page:\u00a0 Site Actions<\/strong> -> Site Settings<\/strong> -> Modify Navigation<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Highlight an item in the treeview that enables all of the toolbar options<\/li>\n
  3. For each toolbar option, right-click on the toolbar option and either Copy Shortcut<\/strong> or Add to Favorites…<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Depending on your browser, build a favorites menu with the toolbar links in it.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  5. Edit navigation without having to scroll around!<\/li>\n
